About the company

MomShells was founded in the summer 2003 by Ruben Stochholm, who had just become father. He was handed a pair of seashells by a nurse and she told him: "The shells has a positive effect on sore breasts."

As he did some research about the shells, he realized the need for these and started up the business. He found out that a pharmaceutstudent had made a survey asking women who had tried these shells what they thought about them. The result was very positive and supports the foundation for starting up the company. Read the article about the survey.

MomShells' main product is natural breastshells for nursing women. As long as the company exist in it's present form, it is the vision to keep the shells as the main product. Lately the productline has been increased with nursing bras to complement the breastshells.

The company is developing through a strategy that embraces organic growth and differentiation. A main goal for MomShells is to keep a free delivery policy so the customer will not be surprised by any unwanted fees.

About the product

The shells are cockleshells collected by hand at fine beaches. No live cockleshells are collected. The shells are boiled, polished, treated with care and sorted by size. The shape of the shell makes it very suitable for containing the milk and protecting the nipples from the clothes.
Finally each pair of MomShells is carefully put in small boxes and sent to the customer.

8 out of 10 women thinks that the shells are a good choice for preventing sore breasts and sore nipples and 2 out of 3 women who have tried other remedies are convinced that the shells are a better choice.
